Field Journal
Field Journal # 1
Date: 4/6/2018
Day of the week: Friday
Location: In the front of my house. I'm on a bench near a large tree on my grassy yard.
Time: 1600 Hours
Observers: Just myself with my dog lightning.
Habitat: It's sunny, in a large grass field next to a large tree and a stone garden.
Weather: About 50'F, slightly humid with low wind moving across my sides.
Remarks: Spring is finally here and it's nice to get some sun. My dog is enjoying the warm grass as he rolls around.
Comments: I'm glad I am able to take some time for myself and just enjoy some nature.
Personal Account(4/8/2016): On a warm, sunny Friday, I spent some time in front of my house. I live near many trees, so it is not uncommon to see deer or any other local animals prowling my yard. On this particular afternoon the only animals I saw were some squirrels, and my dog lightning, He enjoyed some simple pleasures of rolling in the grass. I can't always appreciate the simple things like he does. Sometimes it's good to take stock of the little pleasures in life that I have. Spring has finally arrived after months of on and off snow, so now I can enjoy the weather without needing so many layers. I'm also glad I'm able to live somewhere close nature. I'm sure it won't always be like this.
Field Journal # 2
Date: 4/7/2018
Day of the week: Saturday
Location: Scott Park, where the Lehigh and Delaware river meet.I can see the Delaware Canal State Park on the other side of the Lehigh river and I can see New jersey on the other side of the Delaware river.
Time: 1700 Hours
Observers: Just me and the occasional random people walking past.
Habitat: There is green grass disconnected by stone pathways. There are a few this trees scattered around the field. Wild geese roam looking for handouts.
Weather: Partly cloudy, maybe 40'F, not much wind.
Remarks: I enjoy watching the rivers flow and the clouds moving as the world turns.
Comments: I hope we can keep areas like this in the future instead of replacing them with more commercial buildings.
Personal Account(4/8/2016): It's a chilly Saturday with only minimal sun. I was hoping for better but there is not much I can do about the weather. It was still nice to able to sit down and watch nature for a little bit. Maybe I'll try and do it more in the future but for now I don't have much free time. The geese were out and about though. They looked to be enjoying the weather while they were looking for some food. I enjoyed just watching the rivers flow in to each other. The clouds were moving at a steady pace as well. All in all it was a quiet day seeing as it was still a little too cold to enjoy the weather.
